Greg in the bushThanks for visiting my blog. If you don’t know me already, I’m a photographer, writer, traveler, husband and father living in Eugene, Oregon, USA. I’ve done a lot of different kinds of photography during my career, but I mostly concentrate on the natural world and recreational travel.

My photos are found in magazines, books, calendars and web sites, both as editorial illustration and advertising. Some people like to display my photographs as prints on their walls. I think they have very good taste.

Every photographer likes to insert “Award Winning” in their bio. I’m honored to receive the Silver award for Single Subject Portfolio in the Society of American Travel Writer’s 2012 Bill Muster Photo Competition.

My guidebook Photographing Oregon won the Independent Publishers Association Ben Franklin Award for best travel book of 2009. It is also included in the Top Ten Best Travel Guides for Photographers at Buy it at your favorite local bookstore, or order an autographed copy from my website at .

I’m also the sole or principal photographer for several guidebooks in the Compass American Guides series published by Fodor’s. My titles for the Compass guides include Oregon, Washington, Pacific Northwest, Oregon Wine Country, Washington Wine Country and Hawaii.

Please also visit to see more of my photos and for information about ordering prints. For stock photography, check out my archive at

I love your Mount Adams photos. It’s home country to my mother’s family. I blog about it occasionally.
